A content management system allows end users, who are not web designers, to add content through a browser and have that content appear on the site correctly formatted and adhering to the site style.
OpenSource software is free to use, which is an advantage, but more importantly to us is the capability to modify the software to suit individual needs. The vast worldwide community around Open Source software means that most imaginable functionality is catered for, but it will always be the case that modifications are required to make everything look and work to the requirements of any particular project.
